There’s absolutely no shame in working towards creating a new story for yourself. Be proud of the work you’re doing! I came across this quote the other day:
The people you lose during your healing process are only meant to be with the unhealed version of you.

It made me think of a friend I reconnected with a few years ago. We haven’t seen each other in 23 years. We had so many crazy adventures together. I cherish and love our friendship.
When we found each other on Facebook we exchanged phone numbers. She called me and I was so excited! We had a long conversation about our lives, it was like we’ve never lost contact. We’ve been trying to meet up ever since.
I reached out to her again to see if we can finally make it happen, and to my surprise, she replied with “my life is so messed up, I’m embarrassed!”
It made me wonder, why would she feel embarrassed for herself around me? Does she think my life has been perfect since we last saw each other? Or that I have everything figured out? And it hit me! Once upon a time, I used to feel that way, too. I just learned to shake it off!
Never be embarrassed by your old story. No one is perfect! We all have scars from our own struggles.
The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.

Don’t get confused by someone else’s perception of who they think you are. Don’t pick up where they left off. It took me a long time to get this. We are constantly rewriting our story. Not everyone that remembers the moments you created together is judging you. Be open to receiving help and love. Your heart will know the people that come with judgments, negativity, and bad energy. Trust your inner guidance!
No one, and I mean, no one is above or below you. Honor where you are right now and change anything that doesn’t serve YOU anymore and remember those who leave were not meant to be part of your new story. Welcome the ones that want to be part of your life!
Today is a new day, your story is not the same as yesterday! In your hand, you hold a blank page, continue writing it’s YOUR story to tell!
To my friend, I love you!
