Having hard conversations with someone who’s dealing with a life-threatening illness can be difficult. We don’t know how to express our feelings or concerns. Having lost my sister to Leukemia I can relate to the overwhelming roller coaster of emotions and frustration.
But have you thought about it from their perspective? How does someone with a strong mindset make better decisions than those with a fixed mindset? What do they think about their cancer or disease? How do they view life after treatment? Do they live in fear?
My guest today has a very powerful message about her journey with cancer. We talked about her mindset during and after her treatment was done, and things she’s challenging herself with for her personal growth.
It takes the same amount of energy to put it towards the wrong feelings; as it is to the right feelings. If you are going to put your energy somewhere, put it in the right place.
Are you feeling lost, frustrated, and unsure where you want your life to head next? It’s time to redirect your energy and ask yourself better questions.
You are going to love this episode with Madeline. I met her a year ago at a Miramar Bilingual Speakers Toastmasters Club meeting; she is a very powerful human being. The type of person you are intrigued to learn more about. She radiates this beautiful energy and confidence in her power.
One of the things I loved the most about our conversation was how she redirected her energy and refused to become a victim of her circumstances.
In this episode, you will also learn:
- Dealing with Thyroid and breast cancer.

Energy flows where your attention goes

Here are some action steps you can take to help you focus your energy
1.) Meditate
If you have never tried or gave up on your first 10 tries, please try again. Start with baby steps, you can’t run until you learn to crawl.
- Start with 2 minutes for one week then increase to 5 and so on
- Look for a quiet place, where no one can interrupt you.
- Sit up straight with your feet touching the ground or in a cross-legged position on the ground.
- Inhale slowly counting 1-2-3-4-5 – Exhale slowly reverse count 5-4-3-2-1. Do this for two full breaths.
2.) Exercise/Yoga
You need to move your body. Not only for your health but it also helps you focus. Nothing screams more breakthroughs than when you have that adrenaline rush and heart pumping. You have that feel-good vibe and excitement. Your brain is working on the background focusing on the positives and goals you have for your life.
Practice every day once you develop these techniques it will be so much easier to focus your attention and redirect your energy.
3.) Journal
Ask yourself empowering questions and challenge yourself to take action. Here are a few questions to help you get started.
- Who am I as a person?
- What do I really want?
- How can I serve others better?
- What special gift am I trying to express?
- How can I deliver my gifts to the world?
- What vision do I have for my life?
- What is ONE thing I can focus on today to walk towards that vision?
