My guest today is Cathy Cook, a businesswoman, and coach at Kennedy Training network, a business she owns with her husband. I’m so happy to chat with Cathy about what it’s like to run a business with a spouse, how to balance work and love life, and growing up at a farm.

Working with your spouse can be challenging sometimes. Trust me, I’ve been there! My husband has a Disc Jockey (DJ) side business – we do not always see things side by side. For instance, he has a certain way of folding equipment cables and sorting his music library, and I have my workflow for running QuickBooks. It can become a mess when there’s a lack of communication. Cathy gave some great tips on how to deal with this and run a successful business with your partner.

I always knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life when I was a sophomore in high school

They say that deep down inside of you, you know what you want to do in your life. But many people don’t act upon what they really want to do due to fear of what other people might think. It’s that validation that stops them from achieving want they want. But I believe is also a lack of strategies to do so. They go through life underachieving because they don’t have a clear vision and goal for where they are going.

Cathy talks about how she always knew what she wanted to do at an early age. You can definitely feel the passion for what she does and the love for the industry she’s in when she talks about it. She’s very clear about what she wants and where she is headed.
